Keith W.L. Rafal, MD, MPH is a medical doctor, board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with training in internal medicine and fellowship trained in geriatric medicine from Brown University. He is the medical director of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island as well as the director of their Fibromyalgia program. He is an assistant clinical professor at Brown University. He has had additional training in the areas of behavioral medicine, homeopathy and western herbal medicine which he has been able to successfully incorporate into his private practices both in Rhode Island as as co-founder of the Alternative Care and Healing Center in Franklin, MA. Dr. Rafal has completed his Masters in Public Health from Tufts University.
Dr. Hasan Tavakoli, DA is a national board certified doctor of acupuncture licensed in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He is a 1991 graduate of New England School of Acupuncture and received a second post graduate degree in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. He earned his certification as an acupuncture detoxification specialist from Lincoln Hospital. Dr Tavakoli is the director of Acupuncture Associates in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He is also a board member of the Foundation for the Development of Integrative Medicine, and the vice president of the board of Acupuncture Association of Rhode Island. He is pursuing graduate work in the field of Chinese Medicine. Dr. Tavakoli has added training in the area of Homeopathy and therapeutic Reiki.
Dr. Ying Yan, DA is a licensed acupuncturist in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She received her medical degree in 1987 from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China. She is a member of the Oriental Traditional Medicine Association of Massachusetts and a board member of Acupuncture Association of Rhode Island. Dr. Yan has given lectures and seminars and has been in private practice in Rhode Island.

Susan Hurd, MA, CAGS, MHC is a holistic based psychotherapist/mental health counselor. She obtained her masters degree from Salve Regina University and has obtained a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS). She has extensive experience in working with patients living with chronic pain and chronic disabling health conditions like Fibromylagia. She utilizes an eclectic approach that includes a variety of techniques that can be individualized for each patient. In addition to one to one work she does offer classes. As a result of her own health challenges she is able to offer empathy and compassion and an opportunity for self empowerment for all of her patients

Elizabeth A Whooley, D.C. is a Chiropractor that has successfully completed all four parts of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.  She is also licensed in the state of Rhode Island to provide Physiotherapy to her patients.  She is a 1998 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, MO where she earned her second Bachelors Degree in Human Biology.  She is a caring and compassionate practitioner who recognizes the importance of a more holistic approach to patient care.

Elaine M. Grant, MRC, CABT earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Providence College, as well as a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the Sargent College of Allied Health Professions at Boston University. She has accumulated years of experience as a Rehabilitation Case Manager/Supervisor working for an international private rehabilitation firm. She has complemented this background with training in the traditional asian energy healing modalities of Shiatsu and Sotai, becoming a nationally certified Asian Bodywork Therapist. Elaine is also a practitioner of Reiki and various styles of Qi Gong. (Elaine uniquely combines her training in Western and Eastern, ancient and modern healing modalities in order to assist with a comprehensive individual assessment and treatment protocol.)

Nancy L. Wilson, LCMT, CPT - is a certified Massage and Polarity Therapist licensed in Rhode Island. She received her Polarity Therapy training in 1997 from the Polarity Realization Institute in Ipswich, MA and is a graduate from CEI in 2006 for massage therapy. She is a member of the Rhode Island American Massage Therapy Association. She has been in private practice and is an active member of the clinical team at Healing Choices. She has extensive experience in working with patients living with chronic pain as well as other medical conditions and is able to offer a caring individualized approach.

Lawrence O’Leary Jr. MHRM holds a Masters level in Tai Chi and Kung Fu with over 33 years of training. He has a black belt in Kenpo & Ju Jitsu and holds a Masters level Reiki Certification as an instructor and practitioner. He has extensive experience in working with people with a variety of medical concerns and is very comfortable working in a medical environment. Lawrence O’Leary is a compassionate practitioner with Healing Choices and through his classes and individual work he complements the other options offered by our team.

Winter Robinson - Winter Robinson is internationally recognized for her ability to incorporate (and teach) the intuitive process as a compliment to medical diagnosis. A licensed therapist and medical intuitive. Winter headed a pilot project at Brown University Medical School designed to explore the limits of intuitive diagnosis with medical students.

Author of A Hidden Order-Uncover Your Life's Design ; Intuitions, Seeing with the Heart ; and Remembering, A Gentle Reminder of Who You Are, s he created a series of CDs ( The Beach , Winter Solstice ) designed to help the listener use imagery for stress reduction, exploration of ones inner wisdom, and as complimentary medicine. She works collaboratively with Dr. Rafal and the team at Healing Choices to help patients with medical oversight to make the best choices for their health and healing. She also works with individuals to help them understand and develop and trust their own intuition

Healing Choices, P.C. is an interdisciplinary specialty medical practice founded by Keith W.L. Rafal, M.D, MPH.
